"This is always a fun day for Legal Aid staff and supporters," said Steve. "We have wonderful support throughout the year from Atlanta lawyers. People tell me they are proud to be associated with us.

"Several people mentioned seeing the documentary "One Law For All." A number of people who saw the documentary were particularly taken by the story of the child who needed a heart transplant, but could not get it  because of an unstable family situation. Our lawyer went into action and on a snowy Atlanta Friday with consent of the child’s parents,  got an emergency order giving his  grandmother formal custody. The child now has a new heart—which he got two days later on Valentine’s Day."

"Legal Aid cases always start with one client, one person or family with a problem that a lawyer hopes to solve. Sometimes, the case becomes bigger than the one client, and benefits many Georgians in similar situations." (Read about some of these cases in "Not Just Another Day.")
